When You Shower..

Top or tail your body with a quick bath or shower, last thing at night try sitting down in the shower; its wonderfully relaxing. Scrub as usual with a loofah or mitt & your favorite soap. Then sit, legs crossed, & let the spray come down full force, especially on areas of tension like the back of your neck & shoulders. If you like a bath to get you going in the mornings, run tepid water & stretch out in the tub for five minutes. Next turn the shower as cold as you can take it. Rinse again. Towel dry vigorously to stimulate the circulation; that will get you going, ready to face the day.

Don’t overlook the pluses of loofahs in helping to achieve a real body lift. a loofah is simply a piece of vegetable ground dried, then allowed to swell in water , & its ideal for removing dead cells & keeping the skin healthy; you should feel really tingly afterwards. Loofahs are anything from 25-40 cm (10-16 in) long; the  longer once are best fir reaching round to easily neglected areas – like between the shoulders blades; the short once or loofah ‘mitts’, are fine for underwater massage on flabby areas – like tops of legs.

Massage gloves can be used all over the body, in a gentle circular motion. They are beneficial when used either wet or dry. Several different textures can be found, including jute, which is gentle on the skin, polypropylene, slightly more abrasive, & toweling, which is invigorating.

Friction straps help eliminate dead skin. They combine sponge & toweling, & are intended for tackling backs, which may be difficulty to reach.

Body brushes are designed to stimulate the circulation & deep cleanse the skin. Choose between stiff bristle heads & gentler sponge ones.

Pumice stones sure also very useful – they are blocks of volcanic lava which are invaluable for rubbing away dead, hard skin & smartening up problem areas like heels & elbows.

To double the effectiveness of a tonic bath give yourself a dry friction rub before you get in the tub. Use a loofah, friction mitt or even an old hair brush with sufficiently mellowed bristles. Start at your feet & work up from ankles to knees, knees to thighs.

Then rub up from hands to elbows, elbows to shoulders, working towards the heart, & continuing until the whole body is pleasantly warm & glowing.

plan your  body  skin care routine around those precious moments in bath or shower when you can really devote time to taking care of your looks.
