The shampoo drill Tips:

1. first brush out all tangles; brushing also9 removes loose dirt & dandruff.

2. Massage your entire scalp, briskly but gently, with a rotating movement of hands & fingertips.

3. wet your hair all over with warm water & either spot shampoo all over the whole scalp, or pour Shampoo into the palm of your hand & apply it to the hair.

4.lather well & massage the Shampoo well into your scalp with the same massage movement – a rotation of hands & fingertips (not nails). On this first application mostly on Shampooing the scalp rather than the hair; your scalp needs laundering most.

5. Rinse off warm water.

6. Lather again & repeat massaging movement, paying special attention to the area around the hairline where make-up & debris can collect. Then rub the ends of your hair between your hair between your palms carefully with suds.

Note: if you are washing your hair almost every day this second application of shampoo is not usually necessary. Equally, if your scalp is very greasy you might prefer to stick at one shampoo; over-enthusiastic Shampooing can stimulate the sebaceous glands to produce more oil.

7. rinse the entire head thoroughly. Rinse & rinse again until you are absolutely certain all soap is rinsed a way. A shower attachment giving a constant flow of water is ideal for this; you can just continue rinsing until the water runs clear. Any shampoo not rinsed away will have a dulling effect on your hair.

8. Finish with a cold water rinse to give your  hair more shine & gloss,

then squeeze gently remove excess water. At this stage, you may want to apply conditioner.

9. blot your hair with a towel. Never rub too fiercely; apart from the danger of the damaging the hair, you can also stir up the sebaceous glands to renewed activity – something to avoid, if your scalp is inclined to be greasy

10. go on to dry your hair immediately, or wrap it in a tawel, turban-style for a few minutes. The towel will absorb all the moisture & when you unwind it, your hair will be at the damp dry stage.
