PLAYING WITH THE PONYTAIL

1—THE DRAMATIC PONYTAIL

A high, tight ponytail is swingy & totally sexy. It’s also wearable both at work & at night. If you have a high forehead, you have to be careful with high ponytails (you don’t want to look bald from the front). Your best bet are bangs or a side-part & fastened lower on your head.

How to get it:

STEP 1:

Sprits hair with a volumizing spray & then dry hair straight. If you have curly hair, use a diffuser instead (or nothing at all) of the volumizer.

STEP 2: Take a section at the top part of the back of your head & tease hair at the root. This will give you needed volume for the dramatic look.

STEP 3: once hair is sufficiently teased, carefully brush hair back into a pony up high on the back of your head just above your ears. Gently pull hair at the top of the pony out & up for drama.

STEP 4: run a gloss through ponytail, using extra at the ends.

STEP 5:if you are going out at night, up the drama ante by securing a gorgeous barrette or fancy clips near the elastic & on the side of your head. if you use a barrette, keep in mind that it’s a piece of jewelry, so be careful not to overdo he look with earrings, necklace & a bracelet. The less jewelry you wear, the more oomph your pieces have.

trendy_hairstyles_for_long_hair_summer_2010

2—THE HALF-CLIP, HALF-DOWN PONYTAIL

This is a super elegant look & ideal for social evenings or dinners. Complemented with a formal outfit, it can do wonders for your image. Ideally suitable for longer manes it can also look sophisticated on shoulder length layered hair.

To get this look:

STEP 1: part hair from ear-to-ear into a top & a bottom section.

STEP 2: secure top section with a ponytail holder.

STEP 3: take the point of a rattail comb & put it under the hair, just at the crown. Gently coax hair up until it’s just a bit puffed.

STEP 4: for more drama, wrap a ribbon or a strip of fabric around hair & fasten with a bobby pin.

Have fun playing with the ponytails this summer; & creating an image(s) which is not only novel but also beguiling!

Shampooing:

Shampooing the hair cleanses it & makes it springy & fragrant. Choose your Shampoo according to the condition of your scalp.

A dry scalp feels ‘tight’ & can become so tense that headaches result. Over-Shampooing can remove all trace of natural oil. Try diluting Shampoo with water before applying it to hair.

With greasy scalp, the skin is quite pliable – you can move your scalp under your hand. For this scalp type, use warm, not hot, water & give an extra final rinse.

A normal scalp looks healthy & has a good, normal skin color. If your scalp is normal, concentrate on it more than your hair with the first application of Shampoo. With the second, massage suds into the bulk of the hair. With a dandruff-prone scalp which visibly sheds scales, make sure you rinse off every speck of Shampoo & wash combs & brushes at the same time. How often should you shampoo? As often as is necessary for your kind of scalp – once a week certainly, but perhaps as frequently as every day. As long as you are using the right shampoo, you needn’t worry, either about drying out your scalp, or encouraging a greasy scalp to become more oily.

Hair change color with time. We all know that. But do you know that a little attention and right treatment your hair can actually keep your young looks.

If you naturally have lighter hair color, try keeping it soft and bi-tone as you age. Avoid using too much bleach as it can be aging .A nice amalgam of three different shades all close to your natural tone will work wonders for you.

• Naturally brown hair tends to look lankier and limper with time as they seem to thin out more. Instead of doggedly sticking to the same old mono tone, try going for low lights which not only subtly adds color to your hair but also gives it a fuller look.

•If you are lucky enough to have thick brown hair and do not want to color it, try using color enhancing hair products as they can add a little pigment to the hair.

Natural_Hair_Color,_Natural_Hair

• If you do not want to change your natural hair color but just want to hide those grays, use complementing high or low lights to not only hide the grays but also give you a newer, perkier and very elegant look.

And lastly, to keep the ever – young looking look locked in your locks, go for moisturizing, conditioning & shine enhancing hair care regularly.

Choose conditioner for the state of your hair – which isn’t the same as the state of your scalp. The most normal hair conditions as follows.

1– Dry unmanageable hair usually has a fuzzy outline & often goes with dry scalp & coarse hair.

2– Lank, dull hair frequently goes with a greasy or dandruff-prone scalp & average to coarse hair.

3–splitting, or brittle ends often go with a normal scalp & occur in all hair-texture types.

For dry dull or brittle hair, conditioner is a must. It coats the hair & makes it smooth & shiny. Conditioned hair no longer feels rough & it has extra fullness & body. Lank dull hair needs conditioning too – to give it body. There are totally oil-free conditioners which are ideal for this hair type. Even if your hair is normal, make a concentrated effort to massage conditioner onto the hair ends; by doing so you can often help prevent injury to the hair shaft with the inevitable outcome – split ends. When these occur, the ends of the hair literally open up like a ‘Y’ & a split can travel right up the hair, leaving a series of broken wisps all over the head.

Remember conditioner is the invisible ‘raincoat’ which will help any hair type stand up to bad weather. Curly hair swells up & become s difficult to handle in damp weather; conditioner helps curb this tendency. Long fine hair goes limp at the first sign of dampness; conditioner adds body. Fine wavy hair goes wispy; conditioner helps keep it smooth.

Conditioner is normally applied after shampooing. It will close any open cuticle scales & replaced the natural oils which protect the hair. Left on the hair for a minute or two, a conditioner acts as a detangler & adds shine, body & luster to the hair. Apply conditioner once the hair has been thoroughly rinsed after shampooing. Never massage conditioner into the scalp. Usually, you will only need to apply conditioner from the middle to the ends of the hair; the roots don’t normally need it unless the hair is bleached.

THE CONDITIONING ROUTINE:

1 — POUR conditioner into the palm of the hand, then gently aqueeze onto the hair.

2–comb the conditioner through the hair to ensure an even spread. if the comb doesn’t slide through easily, don’t tug at the hair. Rather hold the jet of water from the spray head behind the comb & le t the force of the water mix with the conditioner & smooth the path for the comb.

3–leave conditioner on for a minute or two before rinsing hair thoroughly with warm water.

4–if your hair is very dry, reapply conditioner to the ends, about the last 5 cm (2 inches), & then rinse lightly.

5–blot dry with a towel or wrap the hair in a towel-turban which will absorb excess moisture. Never rub at the hair with a towel after conditioning or you will undo all the good work of the conditioner.

DEEP CONDITIONING FORMULAE:

These are for use regularly once a month, or every six weeks, or for times when the hair has become badly damaged through over-exposure to wind or sunshine, sea water or chlorinated water.

For this routine:

1– Massage your scalp, working up warmth.

2– part the hair four ways & smooth conditioner onto each part, starting at the roots if the hair there is showing signs of damage; otherwise being half-way down the hair shaft.

3–wrap your hair in a towel turban & leave your hair for at least 20 minutes.

4–shampoo your hair in the usual way.

tip 5

2010 Home Remedies For Acne Tips

* Wash your face twice a day in warm salty water. This should leave your face oil free without aggravating the acne.

* Make a paste of neem leaves with turmeric powder. Apply on affected area. Wash it off after 20-30 minutes with lukewarm water. This is a good cure of acne.

* Apply equal amount of lemon juice and rose water with a cotton ball, leave for half an hour and wash. Repeat for 15-20 days.

* Rub the acne with garlic cloves several times a day. Pimples will disappear without a mark with regular applications.

* Grind nutmeg (Jaiphal) with unboiled milk and apply on acne for 1-2 hours. This works as a magic. Pimples should disappear without leaving a mark.

* Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. At least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables should be included in your diet. All acne home remedies should include a healthy diet.

Choose a shampoo that has a low pH

Always check out the ingredients listed on the shampoo bottle.

Select hair care products that are specifically designed as daily or light formula shampoos.

Some shampoos can be too aggressive and may not only sweep away dirt, but also your hair’s protective sebum.

If you have oily hairs choose a shampoo that does not have strong detergent base.

Don’t wash your hair every day.

Selecting the best shampoo for your hair is essential in order to maintain and achieve healthy and beautiful hair crucial to use a shampoo that is appropriate for your hair type otherwise it won be effective enough. For example if your hair is oily you should never use shampoo or conditioner designed for dry hair because it won remove the excess oil from your scalp and it can cause other hair problems such as dandruff frizzy hair how-to-control-frizzy-hair-and-how-to-treat-frizzy-hair-properly or even split endshow-to-get-rid-of-split-ends-and-how-to-treat-split-ends-properly

Shampoos are designed to remove dirt and oil from the hair as well as to nourish the hair in deep. There is a variety of shampoos designed for the different hair types and for different purposes?? “There are clarifying shampoos, nourishing shampoos, shampoos specially designed for color treated hair or premed hair. Many shampoos contain proteins, vitamins, minerals, essential oils and other natural ingredients that nourish, condition and repair damaged hair.

Choose your shampoo according to your hair type

It essential to identify your hair type in order to choose the best hair products for you. If you cannot determine what your hair type is you may consult your hair dresser or a specialist to see what it is. Nowadays there are even specially designed tools that determine hair types and skin types but they are very expensive. For example oily hair often looks greasy and dull, it becomes oily too quick, attracts dirt easily and needs frequent washing. Dry hair is characterized by split ends, frizziness, it feels tough to the touch and is difficult to comb or brush.

If your hair is oily:

If your hair is oily you should look for products designed for oily hair. The shampoo should be strong enough to cleanse your hair from the impurities and at the same time it should be appropriate for a daily usage. This doesn’t? mean that it should be harsh, because if the product contains harsh chemicals it can easily strip your scalp of its natural oils and your sebaceous glands may begin to produce even more oil. Your conditioner should be appropriate for oily hair and it should contain the least amount of oils in order to prevent further oiliness. Your best choice will be a clarifying shampoo and a light conditioner specially designed for oily hair. Clarifying shampoos remove the buildup of hair care products that can weigh down your hair and causing it to be dull and greasy in appearance. If you have oily hair you can wash your hair two/ three times a week but make sure the shampoo isn’t harsh or you can dilute your shampoo with a few tablespoons of water. A cleansing shampoo with mint extracts is ideal for oily hair.

If you hair is dry:

If your hair is dry you should look shampoo that is specially designed for dry hair. The shampoos for dry hair contain more nourishing and moisturizing ingredients (a higher level of essential fatty acids). Choose a hydrating shampoo that is mild and contains more natural ingredients such as olive oil, almond oil, honey chamomile, essential oils. A moisturizing conditioner is a must for those with dry hair. Thick conditioners are excellent for dry and damaged hair as they nourish the hair deeply.

If your hair is colored or chemically treated:

If your hair is colored or chemically treated you should choose your hair care products very carefully. The products should be able to retain the color of your hair and to repair the damage caused during the coloring treatment. Your shampoo should be specially designed for colored hair with UV filters to protect the color from fading. It should contain many nourishing ingredients in order to repair any damage caused by the coloring ingredients. The shampoos and the conditioners for color treated hair contain many nourishing ingredients that not only condition and repair the hair, but they also help prevent the color from fading due to sun exposure, exposure to heat etc. Choose a shampoo that is made for color-treated hair.

If your hair is prone to dandruff:

If your hair is prone to dandruff you should choose an antidandruff shampoo and antidandruff conditioner or serum. These shampoos cleanse the scalp very well and keep the dandruff flakes out of sight for a few days. Other antidandruff shampoos contain special ingredients (like ketoconazole) that act directly to inhibit the growth of the fungus (dandruff bacteria) and normalize the pH level of the scalp. You should be very careful when selecting antidandruff products as some of them may be too harsh for your scalp and hair?? “Causing itching, dryness and scalp irritation.
