Applying and Removing Eyelashes | Preparing the Eyelashes

To prepare the untrimmed type of EYELASHES, cut them at an angle so that there is a left & a right LASH, with the outer Lashes about 12mm in length & the inner ones 6mm. then cut every other hair about 3mm shorter then the next, to give a feathered effect.

APPLYING THE EYELASHES:

1, To apply the Lashes , place the heavier , curved end on the outer part of the upper lash line, as close to the natural Lashes as possible. Do not extend beyond the natural lash growth.

2, some people use eyelash tweezers to place the strip in place, other prefer to use their fingers. The eyelash adhesive should be lightly stroked onto the underside of the strip before gently placing it on the eyelid.

3, when both sets of eyelashes have been correctly placed, & once the adhesive has dried, it will be necessary to go over the strip with eyeliner, to disguise it. Taper the end of the painted eyeliner with a fine, pointed brush to make the line look natural.

4, if the natural lashes are too straight it may be necessary to add mascara to attach them to the false ones. Another method is to use eyelash curlers on the natural lashes first, before applying the false ones.

5, do not use pencil to line the eyelids as the grease in the pencil will cause the strip to become loose. Water-applied eyeliner is best. Always use a fine, pointed sable-hair brush.

For a wide-eyed look you can attach one or two of the outer natural lashes to the corresponding false ones with eyelash adhesive. This works very well if the natural outer lashes are a bit ‘droopy’.

REMOVING THE EYELASHES:

1, TO remove the false EYELASHES, take hold of the outer end of the strip with one finger; place a finger of the other hand on the centre of the closed eyelid,& peel the strip off gently.

2, remove the bits of dried adhesive, & wash off the mascara with a cotton bud soaked in cleansing milk or eye make-up remover. Place the lashes back in their box.

3, it the false lashes lose their curl, wind them round the curve of a pencil: roll a tissue around this & leave overnight. They should be curled again by the next morning.
